Biography

Ms. Gutierrez received her Master of Science degree in Health Systems Management from Rush University of Rush Medical Center, Chicago, in 1993. Her graduate research paper was presented at the Gerontological Society of America's Annual Meeting in 1993.

Ms. Gutierrez is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). She is also certified in Alzheimer's/Dementia Care through the Alzheimer's Institute. She serves on the Speaker's Bureau of the Colorado Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and she serves as an Ambassador for the Association. Additionally, she serves as a Volunteer Guardian through the Guardianship Alliance of Colorado.

Marcia's professional work includes over ten years of experience working in healthcare management and seven years of experience providing home care and care management services to seniors.

Care Advocate Services:

  1. Assessment: Psychological and functional client assessment.
  2. Care Planning and Advocacy: Reviewing options and helping families decide on a plan for care. Advocacy within the healthcare delivery system on behalf of the client. Optional on-going care monitoring for long-distance family members.
  3. Relocation Assistance: Helping families make decisions around moving, including determining the appropriate level of services and best choices for the client and family, based on needs as well as preferences. Facilitation of move and post move transition
  4. Family Support: Assisting family members in their caregiving roles by providing options for emotional support and respite.
